Saturday Birding Outings

 

Saturday birding outings take place all year

on the second Saturday of the month.

Meet at 1555 Burtch Road, the Apple Bowl parking lot,

 (the site of the former Dr. Knox School).

at 7:30 a.m., (April - Sept.) In winter (October - March) the meeting time is 8:30 a.m.

Bird Nest Webcams.   Some of you birders might be interested in looking at the following website:  www.webcamplaza.net   Click on "birds nests" heading under "fun places"  You will see a long list of webcams in birds nests from all over the world.

Other colonies of American Avocets were discovered

after 1999 and are all in the Cariboo-Chilcotin area.

The Central Okanagan Naturalists' Club is spearheading a group of public and government organisations working to conserve American Avocets in the Kelowna area, the only breeding colony of Avocets in the southern interior of BC.
